Grand Master Iria’s statement for GNW regarding Jayden and Raven

kalway jedi order logoJayden and Raven were tasked to investigate a prisoner escape from our security cells. Somehow they abandoned that investigation and began investigating the bounty issue that the Hutts apparently placed. During their investigation, they learned that KOJ had become friendly with some of the Hutts. And this caused Jayden and Raven to get a bit bent out of shape.

You see, they have been gone a long time and only recently returned. So I can’t really blame them for not knowing about the Nar Shaddaa Accords or about the events of the Hutt Codex that our own Master Zen not only found, but opened in tact for them, which led some of the Hutts to return to the old ways described in the Codex. These Hutts turned over a new leaf and have been working to become honest entrepreneurs and business owners. These are the Hutts we have been supporting and are friendly with.

But Jayden and Raven were apparently unable to overcome their old prejudice and bigotry. They seem not to be able to accept that a sentient being can grow or change. That’s not to say all Hutts have made this change, and we of course will stand against any Hutt that chooses to do bad things. They could not accept that our embassy on Nar Shaddaa would allow for diplomatic attempts to resolve issues and could serve others besides the Hutts, as well. Had Jayden or Raven sought to ask about any of this, it could have been explained to them. But they chose to cling to their own closemindedness and keep their cups full.

They chose instead to reject their Jedi Council, abandon their Order, and turn rogue. They decided to paint us as if we are turning down a dark path. They tried to paint themselves as the defiant heroes, but only revealed themselves to be speceist and bigoted.

It’s not that surprising really, given some of their past deeds. For example, “Master” Jayden once gave a presentation that was entirely plagiarized from the works of our own Master Zen. He continually refuted any wrong doing even when presented with a word by word, side by side comparison, insisting it was his own original work when clearly it was not. Perhaps it was in part because of this, that they distrusted the work on the Hutt Codex and therefore could not believe any of the Hutts able to change their ways.

Whatever their reasons, their actions were not those of a Jedi. As a result of abandoning the Council and their Order in such a manner, they have both been stripped of any Jedi rank and titles. I would advise anyone to be cautious in any dealings with them.

Chiss Ascendancy’s Respond to Master Raven and Jayden’s investigation

tes_001“This news report from Master Jayden and Master Raven is troubling and full of inaccurate information. These two could have spared themselves a lot of trouble if they had contacted the proper individuals in question instead of listening to only one party’s side, and we can guess which that is. That of the separatist leader of the new republic faction. Their statement echoes that of the separatist leader’s own statements we’ve heard in the past. Targeting myself, targeting the Kalway Order. This so called investigation is nothing more than a smear campaign during our elections designed to influence the vote.

Two Jedi return from a long absence and instead of speaking with any sort of leadership personnel within their own Order, the Federation, or the Ascendancy at length, they repeat the same things that Valara Kira has spewed in the past. I can only guess that based on reporting from my informants within the separatist faction that these two former members of Kalway are agents acting on behalf of the separatist faction and it’s leader out of desperation since her base and power is shrinking and so she seeks to weaken the Federation and undermine it’s good relations with other groups.”

Breaking News: KOJ Respond to their former members Investigation

maxresdefault copyFirst, Allow me to state that the investigation of these two Kalway Jedi, do not reflect the views of the Kalway Order of Jedi Council.

Secondly, I will also state that while the investigation seemed to have had merit and we appreciate the concern shown by our now former members, allow me to explain the following by form of text attachment. Attached is the full text of the Nar Shaddaa Accords as negotiated by Master Zen Wormser roughly one half standard year before Master Jayden was a Master.

This agreement has been the bulwark of everything the KOJ has done concerning the Hutt Cartels since it’s inception and acceptance by both the Hutt Council and the Jedi Council of Yavin IV. Our actions do NOT interfere in the Hutt culture nor do we have any influence with them.. we can advise and that has been all that has ever been done. It should be noted that it was advised to the Bareesh Clan by Kalway Jedi not to allow bounties to be placed upon officials from the New Republic. This was not followed as is perfectly right as based upon our interpretation of the Jedi Code… We can not interfere in the normal happenings or operations of Hutt Culture nor would we wish to. Our definition of justice is not the same as any other race or group.. this is the same as Hutts.

As for the Hutt involvement with the GFFR, the Hutts had no say in the operations of the GFFR except as an advisory role… This is well known and the fact that the Chiss Ascendency is allied to the Hutts of Nar Shaddaa and Mos Espa has in no way affected their judgment in the proceedings of the GFFR Senate.

I must state that the investigation conducted by these colleagues, did not in any way utilize the resources available to most Jedi of the Order and not only that the key parties involved were not spoken to nor were they given any chance to respond..

The Nar Shaddaa Accords Proposal (final)

1. A Jedi must inform the Hutt Council, if in the course of their duties they are entering and operating in Hutt space.
2. A Jedi operating in Hutt space must not foment rebellion or encourage others of breaking laws in Hutt space.
3. A Jedi operating in Hutt space must not themselves break hutt law while there. (This includes observation of all taxation and business law)

1. Having complied with all three points in the section above, Jedi have the right to enter and operate in Hutt space. A jedi operating in such capacity, as a diplomatic representative will be subject only to the authority of the hutt great council proper and their direct agents.

2. Having complied with all three points in the section above, Jedi have the right to act as mediators in disputes and have the right to have their arbitration heard and considered by the great council in regards to citizens of hutt space. This privilege allows members of the Jedi Order to act in the capacity of arbiter during hutt legal proceedings, allowing them to represent an accused, or to speak for (or as) a petitioner to the great council on matters regarding hutt space and its citizens.

3. Having not complied with any one of the the three points in the section above, a jedi will be subject to arrest and incarceration within hutt space*, by hutt authorities until such time as their order may be contacted to negotiate the terms of their trial, or release upon the authority of the hutt council.

4. Having not complied with any one of the three points in the section above and having been scheduled to trial by hutt court, a jedi may retain another member of their order for their defense in hutt court, whether to act in a martial or civil capacity** (champion or legal representation)
*their is no statute of limitation or restriction on periods of incarceration within hutt space and a prisoner may be held indefinitely until an arrangement is struck with the jedi order.

**a reasonable period of time will be granted for the transport of the legal representation or champion to hutt space to defend the accused.

That being said, I wish these Jedi well in their search.. but can not concur with their findings.

The Results of Master Raven and Jaydan’s investigation

Raven and Jayden_001GNW was contacted by Master Raven and Jayden. We were told to meet them on the Forest Moon of Endor. We met them on the station of the planet. Master Raven and Jayden had told us that they were conduction an investigation.

Master Raven and Master Jayden have been away from Yavin IV for some time now and had recently come back to the moon. They told me when coming back they noticed a lot of interesting stories that concerned them. An alliance between the Hutts, the Federation and KOJ, They weren’t sure what to make of it and they decided the only way they could have a peace of mind was to do an investigation.

Now the events of their investigation had long past and may or may not have been amended. What they gather from the Hutts was that they found that they were still involved with their criminal lifestyle, of course, its masked to appear legit. Their most concerning thing for them was when they arrived back and there was the turmoil between the Hutts and the Galactic Republic. They learned that there were two bounties on the Supreme Chancellor. One by someone from an unknown affiliation and another by Prilla the Hutt. They go on to say that they know the issue is now resolved but it wasn’t just that part that concerned them. It was the fact that in the Galactic Federation the Hutts had a voice in the Senate via the Chiss Ascendancy’s Aristocra now Senator Tes Fett. Though the Hutts never had a vote some Hutts were able to observe the Senate even doing a little business there.

They said it didn’t appear that the Hutts influenced any laws or amendments in the Galactic Federation. To their findings, the Federation is more guilty by association since the Hutts are not a law-abiding organization. Master Raven goes on to say that “Chiss Senator is the one who brought them into the Federation. Another concerning fact is that the Kalway Order of Jedi in which they belong to had some influence in having the Hutts in the Federation as well. Their alliance with the Hutts go deeper than the Federation.”

Master Jayden follow up by saying “As everyone knows the Hutt’s do nothing unless there is something in it for them. Even though they did NOT have a direct vote their influence is felt throughout the dealings that the Galactic Federation has held. The fact is that they had a voice and they were listened to. It is well known that is more than enough to influence votes into an arrangement that will be assured to benefit them. Since the earliest days when we were still just padawans, the KOJ were courting the Hutts not the other way around. Back then was a different time and alliances were not on the table. Now is a different story where they have a pact between the Hutts leading to an Embassy on Nar Shaddaa and a plaque for all to say stating their friendship with the Hutts. saying friendship. Events are also hosted with the Hutts.” He continues by saying that “This is a problem in that KOJ are supposed to stand for justice and keep peace in the galaxy. Yet the Jedi were nowhere to be heard when a democratic government such as the Galactic Republic were in danger from the very Hutts that they befriended. This makes it appear as though they turned a blind eye to keep their alliance intact.”

Master Raven clarifies her first statement about the Hutts Influencing the laws and amendments made by the GFFR she said, “When I meant they had no influence on amendments and laws, it was more they didn’t come up with new structures to change those laws but they do have an influence with having a voice there to agree or disagree on things.”
At the end of their investigation, they have come to the resolve of leaving KOJ. Master Raven said, “The Chiss Ascendancy has cut ties with the Hutts so they are no longer giving the Hutts a voice in the Senate.” she then sighs heavily “For the KOJ they are still in an alliance with the Hutts and have no plans to change it for there is a mutual agreement between them. That said it leaves us no other choice but to leave KOJ. We have fond memories there and have many friends who we cherish deeply. This is a conflict of interest for us and we can not go where they are going. We will always be allies to them when in need. This isn’t an easy decision but as Jedi, we serve the Force and those in need. We can’t stay where we feel it’s pulling us in the wrong direction.” Master Jayden nod in agreement and said, “What it reveals is a conflict of interest from these findings. It goes against everything that we were taught as padawans and that we believe that the Jedi stand for. We cannot in good conscience remain in an order where the direction seems to be moving away from the side of the light. We have many fond memories and friendships and as Raven has said we will always come to the aid of the order and those in it. This is not an easy decision and we have meditated on this long and hard and feel that the Force has led us to this decision.”

There is always two side to a story so GNW will learn the other side of this story and keep you posted.
